Two events at Church Keyboard Center during the month of featured performances on the new Johannus LiVE organ. This innovative new organ features multiple sample sets of a variety of historic European organs. Five sample sets are resident in the organ at any time.
A unique feature of the LiVE is the near-field speaker system that is carefully calibrated to the room and provides a highly authentic aural experience for the organist. With the push of a piston, you can experience what the particular organ you are playing sounds like as if you are sitting at the console, or the front, middle or back of the church. The highly refined equalization of the sound system combines with sophisticated convolution reverb to create the effect of these four “listening positions.”
The two performances, beautifully played by Dr. Christoph Bull and Dr. Tom Mueller, showed off each of the five organs with organ repertoire carefully selected to match the style of the organ.
